A wide choice in selection of the State in Australia ( out of 5 States & ACT) the University ( out of 15 Universities – 7 of tem GO8) and the Course of study was available to our students.

There were 2 scholarship winners

  • Sajanakan Sriselvakumar won an International full fee remission scholarship from the University of Melbourne for a degree in Biomedicine. He was a student of Colombo International School who had performed excellently at the GCE A/level examination obtaining 4A* and 1 A.
  • Nadeesha Thilakumara , a student of Lyceum International enrolled at University of Melbourne for a Bachelors degree in Engineering . He won a AUD 10,000 fee remission scholarship from the Faculty of Engineering for his excellent performance in the GCE A/L examination having obtained the No. 1 ranking in Sri Lanka for Engineering field..

Choice of State and University

  • Victoria State was the most popular with 17 students selecting University of Melbourne, 7 Students entering Swinburne University of Technology, 2 students to Deakin University and one student to Trinity College.
  • Other popular choices were University of Sydney and University of South Australia in Adelaide. Top ranking GO 8 universities in Australia such as Australian National University, University of Queensland and University of Western Australia and other universities such as Flinders University in Adelaide and Edith Cowan University in Perth were the other choices.

Courses selected

  • Undergraduate
    Selection of Courses ranged from Degrees in Commerce ,Business and International Business to Engineering degrees mostly in the fields of Mechanical, Civil, Software, Electrical Engineering. In Sciences ,Biomedicine was the most sought after discipline while Pure science was also selected...Students also selected courses in Arts , Socio legal studies and Psychology .
  • Postgraduate
    10 students enrolled for post graduate studies including 2 students for Ph.D. programmes in the fields of Clinical Surgery and Students going for Masters programmes were in the fields of Anthropology, Information Technology Management, International Finance, Accounts, International Business, Education, Law, Psychology

Edlocate had students from international, private and public schools from all parts of Sri Lanka.

  • Edlocate had students from International Schools in Colombo - Asian International School, Colombo International School, Gateway International School, Stafford International School, British School, Lyceum International & British School,
  • Students from Private schools were from Musaeus College & Ladies College Colombo 7, St. Thomas's College, Mt Lavinia & The Royal Institute, Colombo 5., whilst a student from the public school sector was from Ananda College.

    Entered Bachelor of Software Engineering course at Australian National University in Canberra .He is a student of Ananda College and CIS.

    University of Adelaide was her choice of University. A student of Musaeus College and is studying for a Degree in Engineering (Electrical & Electronic)

  • Amrick Andrado
    A student of St. Thomas's College. Bachelor of Commerce at Swinburne University was his choice.

    Divyandi Abayasena
    A past student of Holy Family Convent, Bambalapitiya and Asian International School. She joined the Master of Law programme at University of Sydney

    Gayathri Balasuriya
    She is a recipient of the Endeavour Scholarship and enrolled for a Ph.D. at University of Melbourne. She is a graduate of the University of Peradeniya and a past student of Pushpadana Girls College, Kandy

  • Shanmugalingam Kurincheedaran
    He has enrolled for Masters of International Economics and Finance at University of Queensland. He is Assistant Director of the Bank Supervision Dept. of The Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
